Requirements
  • An Associate’s degree in biology or a related field and up to 2 years of relevant experience working in a research laboratory, or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience or training in molecular biology techniques, including quantitative polymerase chain reaction, Western blots, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization.
  • Experience with mammalian tissue culture.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Demonstrated scientific curiosity and ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and the ability to learn new laboratory software and systems.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct research experiments using techniques such as quantitative polymerase chain reaction, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, and microscopy.
  • Support Anatomic Pathology faculty with research projects, data collection, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage laboratory operations, including supplies, equipment, reagents, inventory, and safety procedures.
  • Train and support lab personnel while maintaining accurate records and contributing to scientific publications.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of directly related, full-time laboratory experience.
  • Experience or training in basic histology, including use of a microtome and basic histologic processing.
  • Experience using image analysis and statistical computer programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt published procedures to the specific needs of the project.
  • Experience with anatomic pathology skills such as performing a necropsy.
