- Computer experience is required.
- Previous experience in customer service or an eye care setting is required.
- Obtain American Board of Opticianry certification within 18 months or three testing periods from the date of hire and maintain the certification.
- Assist patients with selecting the right fit, shape, style of eyewear and dispense contact lenses.
- Perform eyeglass repairs and adjustments.
- Educate patients and families on proper eyewear care.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Completion of an accredited Optician Vision Care Program is preferred.
- One year or more of optician experience is preferred.
- One year or more of work experience processing insurance claims is preferred.
- Optical lab training and/or optometric technician experience is preferred.
- Contact lens training or experience is preferred.
- American Board of Opticianry certification and/or National Contact Lens Examination certification is preferred.
