Requirements
  • Computer experience is required.
  • Previous experience in customer service or an eye care setting is required.
  • Obtain American Board of Opticianry certification within 18 months or three testing periods from the date of hire and maintain the certification.
Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with selecting the right fit, shape, style of eyewear and dispense contact lenses.
  • Perform eyeglass repairs and adjustments.
  • Educate patients and families on proper eyewear care.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Optician Vision Care Program is preferred.
  • One year or more of optician experience is preferred.
  • One year or more of work experience processing insurance claims is preferred.
  • Optical lab training and/or optometric technician experience is preferred.
  • Contact lens training or experience is preferred.
  • American Board of Opticianry certification and/or National Contact Lens Examination certification is preferred.
