Requirements
  • A degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized school of Occupational Therapy.
  • Membership in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • A valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
  • Skill in electronic documentation.
  • Ability to provide virtual care.
Responsibilities
  • Assess and implement occupational therapy interventions in accordance with professional practice guidelines and standards established by VHA and the applicable regulatory college.
  • Implement client interventions based on assessment information, client input, and the client’s integrated care plan.
  • Ensure services are evidence-based, evaluated through the routine use of valid and reliable outcome measures, and aligned with best practices.
  • Coordinate delivery of care through ongoing communication with members of the client’s care team regarding intervention plans and schedules.
  • Document assessment findings, treatment plans, progress, and discharge summaries as required by the profession, referral source, and organization.
  • Support safe client care by developing knowledge and skills in accordance with continuous quality-improvement principles.
  • Assess and provide consultation, recommendations, and interventions to pediatric clients in their homes and/or schools.
  • Problem-solve collaboratively with clients and care teams to create opportunities for greater independence.
