We currently have an opportunity for an Account Executive (Potential for Hybrid Work) to join our Commercial Lines Department. The selected employee will be responsible to coordinate and/or participate in placement, service, and retention of assigned key commercial insurance accounts, typically in support of a designated Producer(s). The job requires a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision-making based on industry knowledge and experience to provide professional guidance, expertise, and service to clients, professional and collaborative relationships with carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for overall retention of accounts in assigned book of business.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients to ensure that all insurance service needs are met. Respond to daily client requests and ensure all their needs are handled in an accurate and timely manner, including obtaining appropriate documents to change or add coverage during the policy period.
Leads all aspects of client service, coordination of marketing strategy, and renewal of book of business. Uses judgment and creativity based on industry experience and internal resources to produce favorable results and solutions to address clients’ insurance needs.
Applies independent and discretionary judgment to make decisions, independent of manager approval, on book of business. These include non-routine coverage issues and questions, denial of claims, renewal strategies for key accounts, and interpretation of non-routine provisions of insurance contracts.
Effectively manage the new business and renewal process including capturing exposure information and putting together complete submissions.
Negotiates terms, conditions, and pricing directly with insurance carriers when centralized marketing is not utilized. Collaborates and strategizes with central marketing department resources if/when utilized.
Acquires understanding of clients’ business and insurance objectives and critically analyzes and compares insurance programs to determine suitability.
Leads resolution of escalated complex service issues between clients and insurance carriers that require policy interpretation and experience-based judgment to resolve.
Leads client meetings (including renewal meetings), independent from producer or manager as needed.
Counsel clients on coverage issues, and research coverage as needed. Will assess risks based on clients’ situation and determine proper coverage to insure and mitigate those risks.
Maintain effective relationships with carrier markets while maintaining integrity of HUB NEE’s centralized marketing model.
Coordinate the production and delivery of new business and renewal proposals, exposure/rate comparison and insurance summaries.
Effectively manage, develop, and delegate work to Account Manager or Assistant Account Manager, if applicable, and ensure consistent workflow among team members. May oversee functions performed by Account Managers and Account Representatives, if applicable, including approval of renewal strategies and resolution of client and carrier issues.
Supports, mentors, and trains Account Manager or Assistant Account Manager, as necessary.
Develops new business from existing accounts and assigned leads and contributes to meeting departmental production goals. Identifies opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell of other HUB products and services where appropriate.
Appropriately documents conversations with clients and carrier representatives and updates all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems when necessary. Ensures the accuracy of data in those systems.
Maintains awareness of the various HUB and/or industry resources and tools that are available and utilizes same to best serve clients.
Be a technical resource to others including on “House” accounts.
Review and/or arrange for review of contracts for clients as requested.
Travels on company business as required.
Prepares reports for management as required.
May handle collections of premiums due.
Attends industry related continuing education training and courses.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years insurance brokerage or property casualty insurance experience in account management role preferred. Exceptional customer service skills.
Strong reading comprehension and analysis skills.
Strong computer skills
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong organization and follow up skills.
Ability to exercise independent judgment.
Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
Applied EPIC Agency Management System experience preferred but not required.
Currently licensed in good standing
