Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Responsibilities
  • Establish and administer the Purchasing Working Group.
  • Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
  • Provide requirements and inventory assessments to suppliers to ensure efficient operations of applicable module processes.
  • Prepare and present reports and information related to shortage problems and communicate them to management, including weekly and monthly plan-versus-result information.
  • Expedite delivery of shortages.
  • Monitor production schedules when required because of design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, production, suppliers, and the CKD Control team at headquarters in South Korea.
  • Review production schedules to determine material requirements and priorities for purchase order release.
  • Prepare and analyze transportation costs and transportation savings plans.
  • Coordinate the effective flow of products and continually improve material flow to reduce inventory, making recommendations and adjustments.
  • Work with Production Control on trial builds and issue purchase orders to support programs, ensuring timely delivery and correct Engineering Order-level parts.
  • Perform physical inventory checks to troubleshoot inventory accuracy errors.
  • Monitor and compare supplier returns with systematic movements.
  • Maintain accurate material data and transactions in the SAP system.
  • Maintain the contents of the Supplier Portal system (GSCP).
  • Work with suppliers by providing purchasing information and supporting purchase orders and trial builds.
  • Provide information for status reports and analyze part requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • The candidate should have 0 to 3 years of Just-in-Sequence-related purchasing experience in the automotive industry.
  • Experience in automotive industry plant build-up is desired.
  • Experience with SAP in Production Planning, Materials Management, or Sales and Distribution is desired.
  • A bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
