  • Bachelors degree in electrical, manufacturing, mechanical, material sciences, or similar engineering degree from an accredited university
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • 1+ year's experience with quality, manufacturing, or design engineering
  • Familiarity in enterprise systems including MRP/ERP, Teamcenter, and Jira
  • Understanding of configuration control, traceability, and verification methods
  • Experience in developing or executing processes for at least one of the following: CNC machining, additive manufacturing, bending, tube forming and fabrication, detailed or complex assemblies, welding (TIG, OTW), PCB integration and testing, harnessing
  • Critical thinking: ABL engineers understand the "why" behind all design decisions, operational events and test outcomes
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity: there is no roadmap and ABL engineers must be comfortable defining their own pathway to an objective
  • End-to-end ownership: projects are delivered fully complete and ready for flight; there is no one to pick up the slack of partially complete work
Responsibilities
  • Identify recurring trends and implement continuous improvement efforts to reduce common errors and improve scrap rate
  • Implement, train, and audit new and existing processes and systems
  • Review critical work instructions to ensure traceability and appropriate verifications are implemented
  • Identify and drive-to-closure build-based risks
  • Assist in the AS9100 certification process
