Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, Law, or a related field.
  • Three to four years of relevant experience in statutory compliance, human resources compliance, payroll, human resources operations, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Indian labour and employment laws and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple compliance activities and deadlines.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong documentation, record management, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • A self-driven approach, problem-solving ability, and adherence to deadlines and tight timelines.
  • Experience in project tracking, including setting up a project plan, managing risk and issue logs, reporting, and governance.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of statutory returns, remittance of statutory contributions, and completion of compliance-related payments within prescribed timelines.
  • Maintain statutory registers, records, returns, challans, certificates, and other compliance-related documentation required under applicable laws.
  • Maintain and monitor compliance calendars and trackers for statutory and internal compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with Payroll, Finance, Human Resources Operations, and other stakeholders to obtain and validate information required for statutory compliance activities.
  • Follow up with internal stakeholders and external consultants or vendors to ensure timely completion and closure of assigned compliance activities.
  • Support periodic reconciliation and validation of statutory contributions, payments, and related records, and identify discrepancies for resolution.
  • Handle Team Member queries related to Provident Fund and other assigned statutory compliance matters and provide timely resolution.
  • Support Provident Fund processes, including contribution reconciliation, remittances, Universal Account Number activities, documentation, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with Payroll, Human Resources Operations, and relevant stakeholders to investigate and resolve Provident Fund issues.
  • Escalate complex, sensitive, or high-risk compliance matters to senior members of the Human Resources Compliance team.
  • Manage the compliance mailbox and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve queries.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance trackers, records, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare compliance management information system reports, dashboards, and data for periodic reviews.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of compliance records and documentation to identify missing information, discrepancies, or potential compliance gaps and support their resolution.
  • Ensure appropriate retention and organization of compliance-related documents.
  • Support internal and external audits, statutory inspections, and regulatory inquiries by coordinating and providing required records, data, and documentation.
  • Track audit findings and compliance action items and follow up with relevant stakeholders to support timely closure.
  • Assist in preparing documentation and information required for responses to regulatory notices and other statutory requirements.
  • Support implementation of changes to statutory processes, compliance requirements, and internal procedures under the guidance of senior Human Resources Compliance team members.
  • Identify recurring process gaps, documentation issues, or operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Support other Human Resources compliance activities and projects as assigned.
  • Support identification and tracking of potential Human Resources crisis scenarios at Target in liaison with relevant stakeholders, including maintaining accurate crisis-management data, records, and trackers.
  • Support coordination and execution of Human Resources crisis-management processes, including timely communication and documentation in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain and update crisis-management records, emergency contact information, and related documentation.
  • Support periodic reviews and reporting of Human Resources crisis-management data and action items.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Provident Fund and other employment-related statutory requirements.
  • Experience working in a corporate environment with established Human Resources and compliance processes.
  • Experience with statutory compliance processes, compliance calendars and trackers, reconciliations, reporting, and audit documentation.
  • Knowledge of or certification in statutory compliance, labour laws, or Human Resources compliance.
  • Hands-on experience managing Provident Fund-related processes, reconciliations, Universal Account Number activities, and Team Member queries.
  • Experience coordinating with Payroll, Finance, Human Resources Operations, Legal, external consultants, vendors, or similar cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Exposure to internal or external audits, statutory inspections, or regulatory documentation.
