Requirements
  • At least 5 years of field service experience supporting HVAC, HVACR, chillers, industrial cooling, power, or mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Proven experience leading equipment startups, commissioning, and troubleshooting in customer environments.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver's license and passport are required.
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification covering Types I, II, and III is required at offer.
  • OSHA 10 General Industry certification is required.
  • Lockout/tagout competency is required.
  • Ability to read and work from electrical schematics, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and sequence-of-operations documents without supervision.
  • Working knowledge of hydronic loops, pumps, heat exchangers, coolant distribution units, manifolds, and pressure/flow control.
  • Familiarity with data center infrastructure including UPS, PDU, generators, ATS, BMS/DCIM, CRAC/CRAH, fire suppression, and raised-floor or slab environments.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, peer technicians, engineers, and managers at the appropriate technical depth; remain calm during critical events; conduct customer handovers; and deliver operational training.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 75%, primarily domestically with occasional international travel.
  • Willingness to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and respond to critical infrastructure emergencies.
  • Ability to push or carry up to 75 pounds with assistance, perform routine bending, squatting, kneeling, and overhead reaching, and climb ladders and elevated platforms.
  • Reliable transportation and adherence to customer-site safety and personal protective equipment protocols are required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead on-site installation, startup, commissioning, validation, preventive maintenance, and corrective service of liquid cooling systems.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point in the field before Engineering involvement.
  • Support emergency response, outages, and time-sensitive customer events.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting across mechanical, hydronic, electrical, controls, and thermal subsystems, isolating root causes across hardware, software, power, fluid quality, and environmental factors.
  • Operate diagnostic instrumentation, including multimeters, megohmmeters, manometers, infrared cameras, refrigerant recovery equipment, flow meters, and pressure transducers.
  • Lead pressure testing, flow balancing, fluid fills, leak checks, and acceptance testing during commissioning.
  • Read and work from electrical schematics, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and sequence-of-operations documents, and redline drawings when as-built conditions differ from design.
  • Coordinate work within mission-critical 24x7 data center environments and follow badge access, escort, change-control, and chain-of-custody policies.
  • Act as the senior technical representative at customer sites and communicate with customer IT, facilities, engineering, and management stakeholders.
  • Support customer acceptance testing and formal system handover.
  • Deliver basic operational training and system overviews to customer technical teams, field technical questions, and accurately represent product capabilities.
  • Complete service reports, commissioning documentation, and root-cause analyses.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve recurring field issues and contribute to service procedures, checklists, and training materials.
  • Use service ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Salesforce Field Service to track work, log task time, document resolutions, ensure timely closure, maintain SLA compliance, and complete clean shift handoffs.
  • Train junior field service technicians and customer-side data center technicians on equipment, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Lead pre-job briefings, job safety analyses, and post-job debriefs, and communicate status, blockers, and lessons learned across the service team.
Desired Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 certification and NFPA 70E arc-flash training are strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting data centers, hyperscale facilities, or other high-availability environments.
  • Hands-on experience with high-density liquid cooling, including direct-to-chip, immersion, rear-door heat exchangers, or manifold-based distribution.
  • Prior experience with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center operators.
  • NOC, SOC, IOC, or DCT II/III experience.
