About the Team

The preferred location for this position is in or around Robinhood’s offices in Menlo Park, CA or New York City, New York, or Seattle, WA, with in-office work capabilities, as may be required by management.

Robinhood’s Equities team is looking for an engineering manager with a frontend and product engineering background to join us in building first-class tools for portfolio management, investment research, stock trading, and more, all while delivering the safest and most accessible investing experience possible. In this role, you will manage a frontend engineering team and lead impactful initiatives for our customers and the business.

Your day-to-day will involve:

• Coaching and mentoring Robinhood’s talented engineers by giving them actionable feedback, setting clear goals
• Managing large, impactful projects and coordinating project work with other teams and managers
• Partnering with peers in Product Management & Design to craft and evolve the team’s vision, mission, and strategy.
• Delivering high-quality, impactful projects in record time with thoughtful planning
• Applying technical leadership and expertise to your team and across engineering
• Implementing effective engineering processes and policies that emphasize quality and forward progress.

About you:

• 3+ years of experience serving in an engineering management role shipping customer-facing products
• 5+ years of experience as a full time frontend software engineer (iOS/Android/Web)
• Strong technical skills and ability to architect technical solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• You love helping engineers develop new skills and advance in their careers. You don’t shy away from performance conversations and you recognize the relationship between clear feedback and career growth.

Bonus points:

• Experience with finance, investing, and stock trading
• Experience with Kotlin, Swift, Typescript, and relevant frontend frameworks (React, Rx, UIKit, Jetpack Compose, etc)
• Experience integrating with large distributed systems and technologies like Kubernetes, AWS, Postgres, and Kafka, and Python & Go backend services

The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.

US Zone 2: $190000 - $224000
US Zone 3: $169000 - $199000
