Job Description:
The Medical Assistant Supervisor leads our clinic's dedicated medical assistant team, orchestrating clinical operations with precision and care. This pivotal leadership position ensures exceptional patient experiences while optimizing workflows and consistently meeting performance metrics in our dynamic healthcare environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of 9+ Medical Assistants to deliver exceptional patient care while meeting clinical objectives
- Partner with the Clinical Trainer to onboard new Medical Assistants and ensure thorough orientation
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback that supports professional growth
- Deliver ongoing training to maintain clinical competency and develop advanced skills across the team
- Oversee daily clinic workflows including chart preparation, visit planning, and Gaps in Care (GIC) closing processes
- Monitor staff adherence to clinic protocols and compliance standards while promoting best practices
- Coordinate staffing needs and manage workflow adjustments to maintain efficient operations
- Serve as the primary resource for troubleshooting escalated issues to ensure uninterrupted clinic functions
- Drive clinic performance through key metrics, balancing patient satisfaction, operational efficiency, and staff productivity
- Monitor patient satisfaction scores and implement targeted improvement initiatives
- Address patient concerns, care coordination issues, and referral challenges promptly and effectively
- Lead quality improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and care delivery
- Work closely with the Practice Administrator to align clinical activities with broader organizational goals
- Function as a liaison between staff and leadership to maintain open, transparent communication
- Foster a collaborative team environment that emphasizes shared accountability and mutual support
- Initiate and champion efforts to enhance team collaboration and care coordination
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in senior care settings.
- Active MA certification required.
- 5+ years of experience as an MA III or Senior Medical Assistant.
- Proven leadership experience supervising a team in a healthcare setting, preferably in large clinics.
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in care coordination and referral management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with healthcare performance metrics and quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit kindness and a high level of empathy, fostering a compassionate and supportive environment for patients and team members alike.
