Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic planning initiatives
  • Project manage cross divisional initiatives within the Policy & Government Affairs Department
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to department leadership
  • Participate in departmental management decisions
  • Provide recommendations on personnel policies and staffing decisions
  • Serve as interim director of divisions if positions are vacant
  • Support staff in developing work plans to advance policy goals
  • Manage relationships with policymakers
  • Lobby elected officials to support ACLU positions
  • Provide guidance on lobbying efforts and testimony
  • Develop staff capacity and lead trainings
  • Provide expert commentary to media
  • Lead recruitment efforts
  • Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned
