Requirements
  • Prior housekeeping experience in lodging, housing, hotels, hospitals, or care facilities is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, stretch, reach, crawl, and kneel, including pushing or pulling 60 pounds unassisted and lifting or carrying 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to see, hear, learn, read, concentrate, think, and communicate.
  • Must understand proper handling of linens, terry, and supplies while considering sanitation and cost controls.
  • Must know laundry room procedures, safety and security measures, training checklist procedures, and materials, supplies, and equipment used in housekeeping.
  • Must work within productivity standards, maintain logs and inventories, assist with guest issues professionally, and follow company laundry procedures.
  • Must be able to work alone without direct supervision and as a team member, comply with standards, multitask, communicate professionally, use required computer systems including Quore and Hotel Effectiveness, and exercise discretion to maintain guest privacy.
  • Must pass appropriate security clearances.
  • Must be available to work any day or shift, including weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner while following hospitality standards and procedures.
  • Maintain the laundry and facilities in a clean and orderly manner, including organizing supplies.
  • Receive and sort soiled linens and terry.
  • Treat stained linen when applicable and salvageable; record damaged or stained linen and alert the supervisor when items must be removed from inventory.
  • Operate washers and dryers as intended by the manufacturer, clean lint traps, wipe machine exteriors, and request maintenance assistance for repairs.
  • Fold clean terry and linen and stock shelves and storage rooms.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow emergency procedures.
  • Respond to guest requests and inquiries immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance in accordance with grooming and uniform standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that the associate is capable of performing.
