  • A track record of leading complex technical initiatives spanning multiple teams or domains.
  • Experience building platform capabilities, shared services, and engineering patterns that other teams can adopt.
  • Strong judgment across reliability, scalability, performance, governance, security, and cost management.
  • Ability to move between high-level architectural decisions and hands-on implementation.
  • Experience influencing engineers and stakeholders around shared technical standards and long-term priorities.

  • Lead the design and delivery of complex, cross-team initiatives from early architectural decisions through implementation.
  • Design and build core platform capabilities, reliable real-time pipelines, shared tooling, reusable frameworks, and scalable data infrastructure for other teams.
  • Establish and champion golden paths that enable teams to build securely, consistently, and efficiently.
  • Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency as data volumes and use cases grow.
  • Partner with Security, Compliance, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure systems meet operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify systemic risks, reduce unnecessary complexity, and guide pragmatic, incremental improvements to the platform.
  • Strengthen engineering standards across data modeling, pipeline design, observability, testing, deployment automation, and infrastructure as code.
  • Influence technical priorities and planning by working closely with engineering managers, product managers, and senior technical leaders.
  • Mentor senior engineers and raise technical capability through design reviews, code reviews, documentation, and hands-on collaboration.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with the company's specific technology stack is helpful, although architectural judgment, systems thinking, and technical leadership are valued more than expertise in any one tool.
  • A team-first approach and passion for mentoring experienced engineers and raising the technical bar.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to make complex technical decisions clear to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

MoonPay enables gasless transactions on TRON network processing $22B daily stablecoin volume

MoonPay has integrated the TRON network with its Trade infrastructure, enabling users to complete transactions without holding TRX to pay network fees. The integration brings gasless transactions to TRON, which supports over $22 billion in average daily transfer volume. Traditionally, users needed to maintain a balance of TRX, TRON's native utility token, to cover network fees when sending or swapping stablecoins. MoonPay's infrastructure abstracts these gas fees and incorporates them into the overall transaction, allowing users to transact with only the assets they hold. Trust Wallet is the first launch partner supporting the integration. The TRON blockchain has recorded over 396 million total user accounts and more than 15 billion total transactions as of August 2026.

MoonPay launches Paybox AI wallet for ChatGPT and Claude to complete purchases

MoonPay has launched Paybox, a wallet tool that enables non-technical consumers to make purchases through Claude and ChatGPT. The tool allows AI agents to complete transactions including flight bookings, restaurant reservations, and Amazon shopping. Users can add Paybox through Claude's Connectors menu without coding or special software. Once connected, they can fund the wallet via bank account or cryptocurrency and instruct their AI agent to make purchases in plain English. Paybox differs from similar offerings by Robinhood and Coinbase through its decentralised design using the x402 protocol, meaning it operates independently and doesn't favour specific merchants. Users can set spending limits or require purchase notifications. However, MoonPay faces adoption challenges as it's primarily known as a backend payment service, whilst competitors like Robinhood and Visa can leverage existing customer bases. Questions remain about handling mistaken or fraudulent purchases.

MoonPay acquires Y Combinator-backed Glide in all-equity deal to expand crypto deposits infrastructure

MoonPay has acquired Glide, a Y Combinator-backed crypto deposits startup, in an all-equity deal. The acquisition strengthens MoonPay's infrastructure for moving fiat currency into crypto wallets through enhanced bank and fiat integrations. The deal continues MoonPay's strategy of using equity rather than cash for acquisitions. The company previously bought Israeli cryptography firm Sodot for $100 million in equity and Solana payments company Helio for $175 million, also in equity. Founded in 2019, MoonPay has been executing a multi-deal acquisition strategy targeting security, stablecoin infrastructure, and payments. The moves position the crypto payments company to compete with Circle and Visa whilst capitalising on growing institutional adoption of stablecoins for cross-border payments and treasury management.

MoonPay acquires AI accounting startup Entendre to reconcile stablecoin transactions

MoonPay has acquired Entendre, an AI accounting startup for companies using stablecoins and digital assets, CEO Ivan Soto-Wright told Axios. The transaction involved cash and stock, though terms were not disclosed. Entendre uses AI agents to reconcile digital asset transactions against accounting systems and general ledgers. The startup's customers include Polygon Labs, Thirdweb and Babylon Labs, processing 25,000 transactions monthly across more than 30 financial accounts. Entendre's team of fewer than 10 employees will join MoonPay, with founder Kareem Khattab becoming VP of applied AI. The company had previously raised $4 million in seed funding led by Basis Set Ventures. Soto-Wright said MoonPay plans additional acquisitions and expects to announce new regulatory licences before year-end. The company now employs about a dozen former CEOs and CTOs.
