Requirements
  • Ph.D. in developmental biology or molecular biology
  • a proven publication record in the field of developmental biology
Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in regenerative biology of the eye using classical salamander and chicken embryo model organisms.
  • Contribute to NIH-funded projects focused on retina and lens regeneration using molecular tools such as CRISPR-Cas technology, single-cell and single-nucleus transcriptomics, ATAC-seq, proteomics, Cut & Run analysis, methylome analyses, and conventional cell culture and cell biology/imaging techniques such as HCR in situ hybridization.
  • Perform conventional cell culture and cell biology/imaging techniques such as HCR in situ hybridization.
  • Identify genetic and epigenetic switches required to induce retina and lens regeneration in non-competent and competent tissues/animals.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in cell culture
  • Experience working with small animal models
  • Basic knowledge on RNA sequencing approaches
  • Experience with western blots
  • Experience with RT-qPCR
  • Experience with plasmid cloning
  • Experience with HCR-FISH (hybridization chain reaction)
  • Experience with classical transgenesis
  • Experience with CRISPR-Cas gene editing
