Requirements
  • Current certificate of authority to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
  • Graduate of an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing
  • Master of Science Degree in Nursing
  • 2 years of relevant experience required
  • Masters prepared; graduate of a Physician Assistant-Certificate (PA-C) program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination recognized by the National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a PA-C
  • 2 years of relevant experience required
  • Background check completion required for final candidates; drug screen or physical may be required during the post-offer process
  • Location is James Cancer Hospital (0375) - not a requirement but a location detail (optional)
Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, organize, develop, implement and evaluate education programs and learning activities designed to assist Advanced Practice Providers to acquire knowledge and skills to meet job requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Provide staff orientation and class development.
  • Serve as instructor/faculty for courses and in-service trainings on new products and equipment.
  • Coordinate the Advanced Practice Provider fellowship program.
  • Address ongoing educational needs assessment and maintain staff competency.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing and other disciplines to meet organizational and team expectations and to ensure staff can perform safely and independently for their assigned role functions.
  • Incorporate current evidence-based knowledge and adult learning principles into clinical, educational, and professional standards of practice.
  • Serve as a role model and resource for patient care staff within the unit/department/institution and community.
Desired Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred (for APRN path)
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred (for PA-C path)
