Requirements
  • This role requires in-office attendance at least 3 days/week in New York City.
  • 8-10+ years of marketing experience—with majority in a product marketing capacity—in a fast-paced, high-growth environment (ideally in SaaS or technology-driven industries).
  • Proven track record of product launches: Demonstrated success leading major product launches, market entry strategies, or go-to-market pivots that drove significant business impact.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Proven ability to influence product roadmaps, enable sales teams, and coordinate complex go-to-market initiatives across multiple departments.
  • Entrepreneurial Drive: You like to work in public, own problems end-to-end, and move with intentional speed—so your best ideas ship fast and make a visible dent.
  • Obsessed with Winning: Everyone at Air plays to win, says the hard thing, and progresses every day while building genuine relationships.
Responsibilities
  • Sharpen how Air communicates product positioning and messaging.
  • Clear, repeatable messaging framework that aligns with our key storylines Air wants to tell in market. Internal and external teams adopt and integrate consistent narrative by end of Q4. Measurable lift in pipeline velocity from sharper pain-point framing.
  • Operationalize product narratives that not only highlight Air’s differentiators (visual-first, conversational powered search, review and approvals workflows) but also reframes the status quo: most creative teams don’t realize they have a solvable problem. Their process feels painful, but they’ve normalized it as “just how creative work works.” Our messaging must illuminate this pain and make it acute enough that prospects can’t ignore it.
  • Develop tactics (campaigns, content, enablement) that dramatize this pain-to-solution arc, helping prospects recognize the hidden costs of “making do” and see Air as the inevitable solution.
  • Partner with Marketing, Content, and Revenue teams to translate messaging into campaigns, web copy, and sales enablement that consistently surface these pain points.
  • Optimize product marketing as a growth channel
  • Develop a steady drumbeat of product-led content for social, blog, email, with goal of attracting new prospects.
  • Partner with analytics to measure performance of product marketing campaigns.
  • Identify and test 2 new scalable PMM formats or franchises (short-form video, live product moments, customer co-marketing).
  • Build education & enablement layer in Air’s growth strategy
  • Deliver consistent “education pillar” content (blogs, case studies, whitepapers, explainer content) that helps drive meetings booked with the sales team.
  • Partner with Sales/RevOps to create enablement toolkits (battlecards, ROI calculators, sales tools and collateral).
  • Develop product-centric activation, retention, and expansion plays
  • Drive expansion conversations via marketing and lifecycle experiments.
  • Partner with growth product to execute growth tests on key portions of the customer journey. Launch winning arms and apply learnings to other marketing surfaces.

Air CEO raises $70M betting AI won't replace creative professionals

Air CEO Shane Hegde published a handwritten letter in the New York Times arguing AI will never replace creative professionals, listing his personal mobile number for anyone who disagreed. This comes as his company has raised $70 million to build AI tools for creative teams. Hegde's central thesis: machines find patterns and recommend common answers, but lack the creative inefficiency and risk-taking that produces great work. He positions Air as automating logistics like file management and approvals whilst preserving human judgment in creative decisions. Founded in 2017, Air targets companies scaling creative output. Nearly all product resources have shifted toward AI-centric features. Hegde maintains humans will remain essential for the "zero-to-one moment" in creative work, though he acknowledges creative professionals face declining freelance rates as routine tasks become automated.
