Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field is required.
  • Ten years of professionally relevant experience within a post-secondary school is required.
  • Five years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Experience in Title IV proprietary education is required.
  • The candidate must not currently be in default on any Federal Student Loans or go into default on any Federal Student Loans while employed.
  • Proficiency in managing financial aid programs and budgets is required.
  • Proficiency in financial aid management software and systems is required.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state funding programs, including Veterans Affairs, loans, grants, and scholarships, is required.
  • Change management skills and the ability to lead a team through continuous process improvement are required.
  • Exceptional listening and conflict resolution skills are required.
  • The candidate must be able to understand the implications of new information for current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • The candidate must stay current with best practices and trends in federal and state financial aid regulations, particularly Title IV compliance.
  • The candidate must be able to use computers and computer systems, including hardware and software, to process transactions, store documents, enter data, or perform assigned tasks.
  • The candidate must be able to safely ambulate and/or maneuver when on-site at company locations.
  • The candidate must demonstrate active listening, inductive reasoning, information ordering, and category flexibility.
  • The candidate must use good judgment and problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • The candidate must maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential and multiple projects are handled simultaneously.
  • The candidate must be able to gain, understand, and apply information and data as it relates to the essential functions of the position.
  • The candidate must be able to foster long-term relationships with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage campus financial aid operations while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate financial aid staff while fostering a positive, student-focused environment.
  • Oversee financial aid and student account administration for grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study programs.
  • Provide financial aid and financial literacy guidance to students and families throughout the student journey.
  • Collaborate with Admissions, Student Services, the Registrar, and other departments to support students effectively.
  • Drive a culture of integrity and accountability to ensure compliance with internal policies and external agency regulations.
  • Increase student satisfaction through streamlined and effective financial aid operations.
  • Continually improve operational efficiencies to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Optimize delivery mechanisms to support seamless financial aid processing and administration.
  • Facilitate regular, meaningful two-way communication by defining objectives, addressing issues, and removing potential obstacles.
  • Determine trends and key metrics to evaluate initiative effectiveness, support business goals, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Identify complex problems, review related information, develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions.
  • Establish and maintain a high-performance team of professional, motivated, and engaged staff through effective training, performance management, and career-development activities.
  • Lead staff to achieve established business results and performance metrics.
  • Recognize and reward employee contributions and achievements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Five years of experience in Title IV administration is preferred.
