We’re the Content team at Wayfair, and we’re tackling exciting challenges that are reshaping how people perceive, discover, purchase, and have goods delivered to their homes. We’re a diverse team of world-class strategists and UX writers who are hard at work transforming experiences for our customers, suppliers, internal teams, and beyond. One of three disciplines (along with User Research and Product Design) within the Experience Design team, our approach is collaborative, data-driven, and fast-paced.
We’re looking for enthusiastic students to write compelling site copy for an international audience. You will leverage user research from your peers and partner with our designers to create a best-in-class shopping experience. Our ideal candidate excels in interpersonal communication, loves finding the right words, and is quick to get stuff done!

What You’ll Do
- Write and edit content, transforming complex ideas into clear, approachable language
- Make the user experience effortless: determining the right message, when to show it, and how to say it best
- Join a cross-functional team of designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers to contribute to the day-to-day activities of creating delightful experiences
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and ideation sessions
- Present work, collaborate, and collect feedback from partners
- Become an owner of work, with supervision
- Contribute to a variety of research efforts (competitive benchmarking, user testing, audits, analyses, etc.)
- Participate in and contribute to team events and development sessions
What You’ll Need:
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in higher education with a great academic record. Major in English, Writing, Communications, Library Science, Journalism, Marketing, or similar disciplines preferred.
- Must be returning to the course of study following completion of the internship. Must plan to graduate in May/June 2024.
- Must be able to commit to working 40 hours/week (9am-5pm, Monday-Friday) from June 5-August 11, 2023 in our Boston, MA office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A portfolio that demonstrates content strategy work, and/or writing. Portfolio can be presented as a PDF or online.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Able to effectively explain the writing process and language considerations
- Experience working in a highly collaborative environment

About Wayfair’s Experience Design (XD) Community:
Experience Design at Wayfair is a cross-disciplinary function including product design, user research, and content design. We create experiences for Wayfair’s customers by partnering with product managers, engineers, and analysts to build and optimize the full customer experience. Product Designers are embedded members of our cross-functional atomic teams, working across our portfolio of brands, geographies, and platforms – web, native app, kiosk, point of sale, and more.
