Requirements
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in technical sales or solutions engineering roles, collaborating with sales and customer-facing teams to drive business results.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in security, networking, and/or cloud
  • Proven track record of strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a close-knit team of Presales Solutions Engineers; inspire and develop talent; set clear expectations; ensure team delivers innovative solutions aligned with Cisco’s strategic vision.
  • Act as strategic advisor to customers and partners; cultivate executive-level relationships; drive long-term loyalty and transformative security outcomes.
  • Monitor industry trends, particularly the rapid evolution of AI, and guide team to craft innovative, cross-product solutions addressing complex market challenges.
  • Standardize technical sales methodologies and assets; demonstrate value of Cisco Security solutions; drive consistent growth and competitive edge.
  • Partner with sales leadership, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and execute comprehensive technical sales strategies; ensure seamless handoffs and shared success.
  • Manage complex customer engagements; build relationships; deliver high-value, customer-centric solutions.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders across product, sales, and marketing to ensure project alignment.
  • Measure impact by delivering measurable business outcomes, fostering innovation, and strengthening Cisco’s brand.
Desired Qualifications

  • Hold advanced Cisco or industry certifications (CCNP/CCIE) with deep expertise in Identity and emerging AI security landscapes.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to drive comprehensive technical sales strategies that accelerate growth and deliver measurable business outcomes for global customers.

Cisco acquires Galileo to strengthen Splunk's AI observability capabilities

Cisco is acquiring Galileo, an AI observability specialist, to strengthen Splunk's position in the AI monitoring market. The deal is expected to close in July 2026. Galileo provides tools to evaluate AI output quality, detect errors before they reach users, and improve AI agent behaviour in production. The platform monitors hallucinations, bias, security risks and cost metrics across the entire agent development lifecycle, offering real-time observability for multi-agent systems. The acquisition will integrate Galileo into Splunk Observability Cloud, expanding existing AI agent monitoring capabilities. Galileo offers over 20 evaluation metrics including hallucination detection and supports major AI platforms like OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI and AWS Bedrock. Cisco and Galileo previously collaborated on Cisco's AGNTCY initiative. Both companies will operate independently until the deal closes.

Cisco appoints former Deloitte executive Pete Shimer to board of directors
