A Day in the Life
Team is working hybrid and position will be onsite 3 days/week.
The Principal Financial Analyst role is a do-er and problem-solver who is excited for the challenge of creating clear and actionable data insights for executive-level updates, supporting complex financial models, tracking KPI’s, and assisting in making sound data-driven decisions.
As a key member of the Corporate Core FP&A team, this role will be responsible for detailed financial analysis supporting Medtronic’s key global planning and reporting processes, including annual budgeting (AOP), quarterly forecasting, strategic planning support, and critical monthly and quarterly reporting updates. This position will have frequent exposure to the executive leadership and will work closely with other members of the Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, Treasury, and Tax teams as well as key business and functional teams across the company. The Principal Financial Analyst will play a critical role in maintaining detailed financial models, compelling consolidated results summaries, and high-profile reporting packages, in addition to providing insights on financial results and critical updates on financial outlook.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Ensure accurate and timely data collection, validation, and maintenance for FP&A activities.
Regularly review, refine and improve upon data processes and tools to increase quality, reliability and reduce time of report preparation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Prepare analyses and materials to effectively communicate business performance and trends to leadership teams
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve planning and reporting processes
Support annual and long-range budgeting, forecasting and month-end close reporting processes
Support the tracking and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs)
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed
Support and oversee special projects and initiatives as necessary; drive innovation in processes, systems, and reporting to improve global insights
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 5+ years)
Nice to Have
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or MBA, CPA or CMA
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, including advanced functions like pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs
Exceptional spreadsheet modeling and presentation skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into an easily understood format and narrative
Works comfortably with incomplete information and deals with ambiguity in a dynamic environment
Detail oriented and organized self-starter with strong work ethic
Team-player with the ability to handle simultaneous projects and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$103,200.00 - $154,800.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
