- Be board certified or board eligible.
- Have experience relevant to the clinical setting and an understanding of chronic mental illness, dual diagnosis, mental illness and substance abuse disorders, and adults or children and adolescents.
- Hold a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner degree from an accredited medical school.
- Be licensed in Colorado.
- Hold a valid Drug Enforcement Administration license and a Basic Life Support certificate renewed every two years.
- Maintain regular, predictable attendance and meet the stated physical requirements, including standing, sitting, talking, hearing, computer and keyboard use, close vision, and light to moderate lifting.
- Provide psychiatric assessment, pharmacological management, medication education, treatment planning, and psychotherapy.
- Provide crisis intervention, evaluation, and M1 holds as needed.
- Consult with clinicians, case managers, other program staff, and consumers’ family members regarding ongoing clinical needs and treatment plans.
- Coordinate and attend meetings as needed.
- Document interventions and program activity and maintain accurate and timely clinical records according to division policies and procedures.
- Maintain the confidentiality of consumer records.
- Keep current on research and state-of-the-art knowledge regarding mental illness, especially the psychopharmacology of major mental illness, according to prevailing professional and community standards.
- Provide leadership to the treatment team while empowering, supporting, and utilizing the skills, experience, and knowledge of non-medical team members.
- Provide and receive feedback using conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills when identifying gaps in the program and program planning.
- Bilingual Spanish proficiency.
