Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Master’s degree preferred; must obtain Master’s degree by December 2016.
  • Must obtain specialty certification within one year of employment.
  • Significant experience as staff registered nurse.
  • Experience in progressive management required.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience is required.
  • Recent extensive progressive management/supervisory experience required demonstrating sound knowledge and skills including responsibility for management of a cardiac patient care service.
  • Extensive experience of cath laboratory with intervention management/supervisory experience required.
  • Licensed in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Membership in appropriate professional organization.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to direct multiple clinical departments within the organization.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of medical-legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Must have strong customer service skills.
  • Must have Inter- and intra-departmental coordination of patient care activities.
  • Must be able to delegate skills required.
  • Must have the ability to function in stressful and emergency situations essential.
  • Must have computer skills.
  • Must have personal time management skills.
  • Must be able to use Adept as a change agent.
  • Must be able to utilizes wide range of theories in managing complex problems or problem resolution.
  • Must demonstrate expertise related to the following required: Commitment to the advancement of nursing practice, interpersonal communication skills related to knowledge of group/system dynamics, commitment to staff education and development; Financial skills to include but not limited to interpretation of reports regarding department statistics, expenses, revenues; ability to prepare and educate subordinates regarding operating budget and capital budget; Demonstrated experience in electronic image management and reporting is essential.
Responsibilities
  • The Department Director is responsible for management of all departmental functions including invasive/noninvasive procedures, cardiology medical imaging and cardiac rehabilitation in support of the facility and corporate mission, vision and goals.
  • The Director identifies cost effective systems needed to support the business of the department, taking into account business trends, resource availability, and changes in customers.
  • This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including: patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.
  • The Director identifies and remedies operational concerns while continuously searching for performance improvement in operations and standards of care.
  • The Director has the responsibility to work to ensure quality care and monitoring of quality metrics in collaboration with physicians, staff and related departments.
  • This is accomplished through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in Information Technology implementation related to cardiac services is preferred.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
