Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, special courses, or self-education equivalent to one year of college education or specialized advanced training in secretarial science, office administration, or a closely related field is required.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required.
  • Over six months and up to and including one year of experience is required.
  • The ability to perform sedentary work involving walking or standing some of the time and exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis or performing routine keyboard operations is required.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and organize files, shred confidential or obsolete documents as necessary, release records to authorized individuals in accordance with established guidelines, and conduct records management activities in compliance with records retention guidelines.
  • Assist the public in retrieving recorded information by researching department files, court and legal records, database records, electronic data sources, Internet sites, and other sources.
  • Interact with individuals and groups to provide and obtain information concerning Clerk of Court cases.
  • Answer the telephone, provide information and assistance, forward calls to the appropriate staff person, and greet and assist office visitors.
  • Perform general clerical work, including compiling data for reports, pulling files, copying and filing documents, entering and retrieving computer data, and processing daily mail.
  • Receive and respond to employee and public inquiries, concerns, and requests for assistance in areas of responsibility.
  • Attend staff and County meetings as required.
  • Attend training, meetings, seminars, and workshops to enhance job knowledge and skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate’s degree is preferred.
