Wolt is an on-demand delivery platform based in Helsinki that connects customers with local restaurants and stores to deliver food and other goods. How it works: users order via a mobile app or platform, and Wolt’s technology routes orders to nearby couriers who are independent contractors. Couriers pick up items from partners and deliver them to customers; the app handles payments, including delivery fees, service charges, and commissions for partners, with customers able to tip couriers directly. Differences from competitors: Wolt combines a broad network of partner restaurants and stores with a route-optimizing platform, offers flexible earnings for couriers, and supports tipping through the app, all aimed at making deliveries quick and convenient. Goal: to provide a seamless, efficient delivery experience by leveraging technology to optimize routes and timing.

Wolt and Alnatura launch new online organic grocery store in eight German cities. Order up to 1,800 organic products via the app. Wolt is expanding its grocery business and has made Alnatura the key partner for its new organic market. News by Marc Nemitz · Berlin, 24. August 2026 Wolt is continuing to expand its grocery business in Germany and is placing a greater emphasis on organic products. In partnership with Alnatura, the delivery service will launch the new Wolt Bio Market on August 24. To kick things off, 15 digital organic markets will go live in eight major German cities. Depending on the location, customers can choose from up to 1,800 organic products. 15 new organic markets at launch. The Wolt Bio Market will launch simultaneously in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Nuremberg, and Frankfurt. With this move, Wolt is supplementing each of its existing Wolt Market locations in Germany with a selection specifically focused on organic food. "We're seeing that organic products are playing an increasingly important role for our customers. That's why we're now taking the next step and creating a dedicated service that makes shopping for organic products on Wolt even easier and more versatile." Robert Köbsch, General Manager of Wolt Market Germany According to the company, this expansion is driven by growing demand. The share of organic products in Wolt Market's revenue has risen steadily. Instead of simply offering organic items as part of its existing supermarket assortment, Wolt is therefore bundling these products for the first time into a standalone digital marketplace. Alnatura becomes a key partner. Alnatura is playing a key role in the new concept. The two companies are already collaborating, and this partnership will be significantly expanded with the launch of the Bio Market. Depending on the city, up to 1,800 items will be available at launch. The product range is designed to enable customers to complete as much of their weekly shopping as possible and ranges from fruits and vegetables to meat, baked goods, eggs, and dairy products, as well as pantry staples and select non-food items. In addition to Alnatura, Wolt is partnering with other organic suppliers and regional producers. These include, among others, Gläserne Molkerei, BioManufaktur Havelland, Biofleischerei Pichler, and Zeit für Brot. Looking ahead, the share of regional suppliers in particular is expected to continue growing. Quick commerce meets the organic market. For Wolt, this move is also strategically significant. The delivery service is thereby expanding its model to include a more specialized retail concept. Instead of making only restaurants and traditional supermarket assortments available online, the Wolt Bio Market creates a distinct vertical product offering. "We're very excited to further expand our partnership with Wolt Market and make our products even more easily accessible online through the new Wolt Bio Market." Johannes Mühling, Head of Customer Development at Alnatura This brings two trends together: the continued growth of online grocery shopping and the demand for organic products. For Alnatura, in turn, the partnership opens up an additional digital sales channel without the need to establish new brick-and-mortar stores of its own. Weekly grocery shopping is set to come via the app. A key factor will likely be whether Wolt can move beyond spontaneous orders with this new concept. With up to 1,800 products, the selection is at least designed to cover a significant portion of the typical weekly organic grocery shopping. As a result, Wolt Market is increasingly positioning itself not only as a fast delivery service for individual products but also as an alternative to regular supermarket shopping. Wolt Bio Market will launch on August 24, 2026, in eight German cities: Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Nuremberg, and Frankfurt. Orders can be placed as usual via the Wolt app or website.
Wolt and Lyko enter into collaboration for home delivery of beauty products in the Nordics. "Customer behavior is always our starting point." Lyko and Wolt have signed an agreement that allows customers to order beauty and hygiene products directly to their door. The service is being rolled out through 34 selected stores in Sweden, Norway, and Finland, with the aim of shortening the waiting time between purchase and delivery. According to Wolt, an increasing number of people are purchasing beauty products via delivery apps. Products such as skincare, haircare, and makeup have become part of everyday purchases. To respond to this trend, over 72,000 articles from Lyko are now being launched on Wolt's platform. The collaboration includes flagship stores in Stockholm, Oslo, and Helsinki. For more than eighteen years, Ehandel SE has evolved by listening to its customers and adapting to how they want to discover and shop for beauty. Customer behavior is always its starting point. When expectations move towards greater convenience and faster delivery, a partnership with Wolt is a natural step. It allows Ehandel SE to meet customers where they are and deliver the products they want, when they want them, throughout the Nordics," says Rickard Lyko, CEO of Lyko. According to Wolt's statistics, customers in the Nordic countries place an order related to beauty approximately once a month. Many also use the platform's gifting feature, where beauty items have become a common alternative. As of July this year, the platform had facilitated over 2.5 million orders of these types of goods globally. Consumers are increasingly expecting convenience throughout the entire purchase journey. Ehandel SE is seeing strong demand for beauty and hygiene products on Wolt, and through the collaboration with Lyko, Ehandel SE can make one of Sweden's and Northern Europe's leading beauty players accessible to even more customers. This is another step in making Wolt a place where people can access the products they need in everyday life," says Linda Fors, Country Manager Sweden at Wolt. Editorial Staff

Tesco plans to incorporate its Clubcard loyalty programme into the platform in future updates as the service matures. Phil Bennett, head of Tesco's online business for Central Europe, explained, "Tesco Hned complements its existing online shopping offer and brings a solution for situations when customers need their purchase really quickly. "While classic Tesco Online Shopping remains the ideal choice for larger planned purchases, Tesco Hned targets the immediate needs of customers who want to get their favourite products in a short time."

Partnership between Burger King and the Wolt platform to reduce prices by up to 35%. The Burger King restaurant chain is reducing prices by up to 35% on some combos sold exclusively through the Wolt app, following a partnership between the two companies. Wolt and Burger King have entered into a strategic partnership through which they bring exclusive combos to the app, with discounts of up to 35%, according to an announcement by the delivery platform. The new menus include burgers, fries, and snacks for two or more people and come amid Romanians' growing interest in complete orders for meals for two or groups. According to internal Wolt data, between May 24 and June 10, 2026, demand for burger combos increased by 270% compared to June 11-28, 2026. The trend shows that users are increasingly looking for complete options that are easy to choose and suitable for shared meals with friends or family. When ordering for two or three people or for a larger group, the choice can become more complicated, and complete menus make the experience simpler. The new menus were built precisely for these moments: they combine well-known and appreciated products in a format suitable for sharing and come, at the same time, with an additional benefit through the available discounts. Together with Wolt, we make these options easier to discover and order," says Mariana Lisofschi, marketing manager, Burger King. The menus are available through the Wolt app, from Burger King restaurants, subject to product availability and during the campaign that starts on July 28 and lasts until mid-August.
