Editorial Insights Executive
Location: MailOnline Headquarters – London
Position: Permanent
The Editorial Insights Executive is responsible for providing data-driven insights and recommendations to the audience team, journalists, and editors. This includes monitoring, analysing and reporting organic traffic data and identifying opportunities to grow the audience. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of web analytics, data visualisation, and the media industry.
Day to day you will:
- Monitor, analyse and report organic traffic on a daily and weekly basis
- Provide insight and make recommendations to the newsroom on how to grow the audience across referrers such as SEO, social and third-party aggregators
- Work with the product team to provide insight in new and existing site features that improve the user experience
- Proactively analyse traffic data and make data-led recommendations
- Work with the central analytics team to share best practices and collaborate on projects
The above list is not exhaustive and constantly evolving, based on the needs of the business. Out of hours availability and a high level of adaptability are essential.
What we are looking for from you:
- Experience of web, SEO and social analytics tools e.g. Google Analytics, Google Search Console and CrowdTangle
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI and Looker Studio
- Expectance working with BigQuery and SQL is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills and experience of working with large data sets
- Ability to work in a fast-paced news environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
- Ability to translate data effectively for those who are not familiar with it
- Confidence in delivering and presenting actionable insights and analysis to stakeholders
- Logical approach and problem-solving skills
