With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields, Dynetics, provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions. Currently Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Cyber Security software development intern in Huntsville, AL to design and develop software for defensive cyber operations and resiliency efforts. This position will support the development team as well as help in the development of a cyber operations platform. Assignments will be technical in nature and will support the program, group, or function. Specific duties and responsibilities will be determined by management or assigned supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities

Assignments will include but are not limited to:

• Creating capabilities to track cyber threats and vulnerabilities
• Evaluating intrusion detection system (IDS) effectiveness against known and emerging threats
• Developing/testing of new intrusion detection system (IDS) algorithms used to detect malicious behavior

Basic Qualifications

• Development languages including C++, C, Python, Bash
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle
• Basic familiarity with Linux operating system and command line

Preferred Qualifications

• Infrastructure tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins, make) used to create commercial software products
• Developing applications for LINUX and Windows operating systems
• Experience with cybersecurity concepts, including CVEs
• Experience and interest in fundamental networking implementations and concepts, including basic LAN and WAN networking skills
• Experience with web scraping and databases

Pay Range:

Pay Range $44,850.00 - $81,075.00
