  • Previous driving experience and comfort working with groups of children ages 5 to 12.
  • At least a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Current physical examination and ability to pass a BCI/FBI background check.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Comfort driving a 14-passenger bus.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to transporting children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and neat appearance.
  • Dependability and a good work record for punctuality and daily attendance.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, stand, and sit on the floor or child-sized furniture for prolonged periods.

  • Ability to assist children in an emergency situation.
  • Ability to climb and descend one to two flights of stairs while helping children safely navigate steps.

  • Ability to withstand outdoor temperatures and conditions for extended periods during all seasons.

Responsibilities
  • Drive a 14-passenger school bus to transport children to and from the childcare center.
  • Assist with documentation for attendance and transportation services provided.
  • Perform daily bus inspections, scheduled bus or van maintenance, and bus cleaning.
  • Complete the morning bus run from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and the afternoon bus run from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Provide support for lead and assistant teachers.
  • Help maintain schedules and routines for physical activity, rest, and playtime.
  • Serve meals, assist with toileting and changing pull-ups, record daily reports and attendance, cover breaks, fill in during staff absences, and engage children in play and other daily activities.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment for children.
  • Attend and participate in center-provided meetings and trainings to comply with state childcare regulations.
  • Support field trips and provide supervision when required.
  • Follow safety procedures during emergencies and drills.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience driving a school bus or similar vehicle.
