Environmental Analyst

Key Role:

Support the execution of a space launch infrastructure roadmap to meet the client’s vision. Advise on project feasibility, cost effectiveness, regulatory conformance, or possible alternatives. Conduct field investigations or research to compile and analyze data. Work closely with the Environmental Assessment Lead to assist in developing NEPA and other environmental review documents, as well as support the design and construction contractors with the acquisition of environmental permits. Monitors manufacturing practices and processes for environmental considerations, ensures adherence to company policies, industry practices, and governmental regulations. Apply advanced skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction and mentor and supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in a scientific, engineering, or environmental field involving environmental impact analyses
• 5+ years of experience assessing environmental impacts and assisting with developing NEPA documentation
• Experience with resource consultations, including cultural and historic, in support of NEPA
• Experience with planning and permitting for projects in California
• Knowledge of California Coastal Commission, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service environmental policy, and California State environmental regulations
• Knowledge of NEPA, executive orders, laws, regulations, and policies throughout the NEPA process
• Ability to be highly motivated and demonstrate a dynamic work ethic
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with Santa Barbara County environmental policy
• Experience working at a California Spaceport
• Experience developing recommendations for the mitigation of adverse environmental impacts or other measures to avoid confrontation or regulatory delays
• Experience with historic properties
• Experience with stakeholder engagement, including working with NGOs, community partners, and decision-makers 
• Ability to think critically as a project lead, multi-task, and work closely with a team to execute project activities under strict timelines or deadlines
• Ability to write, edit, and format complex documents using Microsoft Word
• Ability to use SharePoint and MS Teams in a collaborative environment
• Ability to prepare and deliver presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint
• Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
