Your commitment

The summer internship program is 10 - 12 weeks; from June - August. 

You will have the opportunity to meet with our highly skilled and passionate Earnies daily. Your ideas, creativity, and dedication to our mission will be front and center with everything that you do. We are not going to be asking you to deliver coffee and bagels, you will be an active participant in projects that are working toward achieving our mission. Plus, at the end of your internship at Earnest, you will get to showcase all of your successes company-wide through our Internship Showcase.

Impact of this role:

As a Data Science Intern, you will report to the Senior Data Scientist and will:

• You will leverage Earnest’s unique data, standard marketing datasets, and modern statistical and data visualization techniques to better understand Earnest’s funnel behavior
• Work on customer segmentation and derive useful insights for product and design stakeholders for better decision making
• Work on ML algorithms and Markovian models to build causal relationships in the funnel events to understand user behavior
• Work cross functionally with Data Eng, Product and Marketing to understand and resolve important problems faced in a fast-paced environment

Ideal background and expertise:

• You will work remotely for 12 weeks starting in June 2023 as a paid intern
• 1+ years in R/Python and SQL
• 1+ years professional experience in model development and/or data analytics (or Master’s degree in Data Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Economics or a related quantitative field) 
• Passionate about probability and statistical inference and some experience with AB testing
• Deep understanding of classification, regression and forecasting models and AB testing
• Experience working in a cross-functional environment with teamwork and excellent communication skills
