Requirements

  • A valid teaching certification or licensure for early childhood education.
  • Prior experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably in a Head Start or similar program.
  • A strong understanding of early childhood development principles and curriculum standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with families, staff, and community partners.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to early childhood education.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Head Start curriculum standards.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and development.
  • Observe, assess, and document children's progress and communicate findings with families and team members.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate classroom activities and school events.
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start program policies, state regulations, and licensing requirements.
  • Support the social-emotional development of children and address individual needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and other required documentation.
