The Opportunity
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our growing finance team and play a key part in ensuring the accurate recording of transactions related to all of NRG’s operations. The role will also carry a wide range of responsibilities within the team, allowing for significant learning and development of skills.
Your Impact
- Assist with month-end/year-end close of revenue and netting accounts. Initiate corrective actions through research and analysis; prepare correcting reconciling entries.
- Reconcile Accounts Receivable transactions including posting payments and liaising with intercompany services to complete invoices in a timely manner.
- Analyze bad debt and manage allowance of doubtful accounts.
- Oversee unbilled sales to invoice process.
- Collect and analyze data of revenue projections and project margin reporting.
- Assist the Director of Finance with managing process and system changes.
- Support quarterly and annual audit requests.
- Complete ad hoc requests as needed.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience – 1+ years of financial services industry experience with baseline knowledge of general accounting practices + competencies
- Your degree(s) – B.A./B.S. in Finance or Accounting
- Professionalism – You’re exposed to sensitive data and must be able to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff and company information
- Tools – proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with Deltek Maconomy is a plus!
- Superb communication – strong written + oral communication skills and analytical skills
- Time management & Adaptability – successfully manage time and competing priorities to ensure deadlines are always met; able to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Self-starter – internally motivated individual who continuously strives to get things done, regardless of challenges encountered
- Team player – ability to work collaboratively and/or initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight
Position Type
This is a full-time, exempt position. The position is expected to be flexible/hybrid, with occasional in-office days.
