Requirements
  • Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Arts, Construction or in a job-related field of study
  • One (1) year of work-related experience
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, with a good driving record
  • Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) and applicable safety codes and regulations
  • Ability to interpret technical documents such as blueprints, scopes of work, and compliance reports
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates, plans, and oversees a wide range of facility maintenance, construction, renovation, and operational improvement projects
  • Develops scopes of work, schedules, and quality standards
  • Participates in budget development for facilities needs
  • Serves as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including community-based organizations housed in County facilities
  • Ensures timely follow-up and resolution of complex building service issues
  • Maintains detailed documentation on maintenance activities, service histories, work orders, safety compliance, and budget tracking for facilities-related costs
  • Conducts routine inspections and assessments of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural) to identify needs, prioritize repairs, and ensure safety and compliance with applicable codes
  • Ensures adequate supply parts, materials, tools and equipment are on hand to complete required tasks
  • Manages vendor relationships and service contracts
  • Oversees procurement of goods and services, verifies work completion, and ensures quality control of outsourced facility maintenance
  • Supports emergency preparedness planning and response efforts related to facility operations
  • Coordinates the work of contractors, vendors, and internal facilities staff
  • Oversees contracted maintenance, custodial, and capital improvement efforts
  • May serve as a project lead or supervisor on special initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned
