Production Engineering at VGS is the team tasked with building, maintaining, and scaling our production infrastructure, as well as all the systems associated with understanding how the infrastructure and apps are performing. We are looking for Production Engineers who will work with a team of developers and engineers building reliable, scalable and performant cloud infrastructure and supporting CI/CD pipeline. Our environment will require you to work effectively with your teammates, of course. But your real success will be measured by how well you couple critical thinking with self-motivation, enthusiasm and determination.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, and management of overall cloud infrastructure environments to support development of products, platforms and services
- Responsible for the implementation of automated Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Build tools to reduce occurrences or errors and improve customer experience
- Scale out and build monitoring capabilities for applications and infrastructure
- Responsible for building and maintaining configuration management
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
- Responsible for maintaining source control systems for applications and infrastructure
- Responsible for cloud and networked infrastructure
Requirements:
- 5+ years of infrastructure management experience including cloud infrastructure and release management processes
- 5+ years of experience building and managing a CI/CD pipeline environment
- 5+ years of Linux experience in a development context
- 5+ years of network management experience
- 3+ years of AWS cloud services management and architecture experience
- Experience with shell scripting and/or scripting with Python, Go or Groovy
- Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef and/or Ansible
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (Containers and Orchestration)
- Experience with infrastructure automation like Terraform and CloudFormation
- Expert knowledge on source code management and Git strategies
- Must have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills to interact with Agile team members
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented but able to see the big picture as well

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $165,000 - $205,000 per year. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
