Requirements
  • A Practical Nurse Diploma is required.
  • Current registration and membership in good standing in the applicable province are required.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and First Aid certification are required.
  • Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications are required.
  • Leadership, coaching, and mentorship skills are required.
  • A current Vulnerable Sector Check, or willingness to obtain one, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Work as a member of the inter-professional team using the person-centered approach to care.
  • Complete and ensure residents' clinical care assessments, care/service plans, and documentation are accurate and up to date, and communicate changes as required.
  • Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of care/service plans and make changes as required.
  • Assist with scheduling residents' care conferences and participate in conferences where applicable.
  • Work closely with the Director of Care to facilitate residents' move-ins, move-outs, and transfers.
  • Provide direct resident care and administer medications and treatments, documenting care in compliance with regulatory and resident-care standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Experience in senior care or long-term care is preferred.
