- A Practical Nurse Diploma is required.
- Current registration and membership in good standing in the applicable province are required.
- Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and First Aid certification are required.
- Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications are required.
- Leadership, coaching, and mentorship skills are required.
- A current Vulnerable Sector Check, or willingness to obtain one, is required.
- Work as a member of the inter-professional team using the person-centered approach to care.
- Complete and ensure residents' clinical care assessments, care/service plans, and documentation are accurate and up to date, and communicate changes as required.
- Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of care/service plans and make changes as required.
- Assist with scheduling residents' care conferences and participate in conferences where applicable.
- Work closely with the Director of Care to facilitate residents' move-ins, move-outs, and transfers.
- Provide direct resident care and administer medications and treatments, documenting care in compliance with regulatory and resident-care standards, policies, and procedures.
- Experience in senior care or long-term care is preferred.
