This is a hybrid role, requiring weekly, onsite collaboration at Columbia Sportswear’s headquarters in Portland, Oregon.
ABOUT THE POSITION
As part of North America Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), this role will support Columbia outlet, brand, and employee stores within the US and Canada.The Workforce Optimization team iscommitted to to delivering an exceptional experience by optimizing our operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and satisfaction for both our employees and consumers. To help us achieve this goal, we are seeking a talented Industrial Engineer who specializes in Retail Workforce Optimization.
We are looking for a Senior Workforce Optimization Analyst to deliver in-depth, industrial engineering services to Columbia Sportswear’s Retail workforce optimization team. As a Workforce Optimization Analyst you will Identify and implement business solutions to support our retail stores. You’ll develop and maintain production standards, conduct cost comparison studies, identify process alternatives, contribute to the development of store layouts, and monitor and audit best practices and procedures. You’ll be relied upon for recommendations to leadership aligned to the most economical processing, storage, and receiving of product based on engineering expertise.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Perform retail process observations, identify opportunities, and provide feedback in the moment
Collect and analyze data to update labor model
Develop, implement, and maintain software solutions, specifically supporting engineered labor standards, forecasting, and budgeting efforts
Analyze and review current store processes and equipment; recommend changes, improvements and What-If scenarios which increase productivity and contribute to cost efficiency
Develop engineered labor standards by translating processes into a time measurement units (TMU) data model
Provides project management skills in key, high-level assignments involving design, development, and timelines of new store standards, store layouts, costing, and partnership of implementations
Capable of using data to influence leader buy-in
Able to manage small to medium sized projects
A strong communicator with the ability to present complex information in simple, concise terms
Experience in retail labor and store processes with an ability to identify waste and improvement opportunities
A strong analytic skill set and a high degree of proficiency in mathematics and statistics
Proficiency in MS Excel
Proven attention to detail
