Pacific Fusion is developing nuclear fusion energy with a focus on creating a high-gain fusion system. Their technology uses pulsed magnetic inertial fusion, where fast-rising, high-current pulses magnetically compress and heat small containers of deuterium-tritium fuel to achieve fusion conditions. This method aims to produce more energy from fusion than the energy used to initiate the process. What makes Pacific Fusion unique is its emphasis on practical economics; their modular system consists of a fast electric pulser made from many identical parts, a small fusion chamber, and tiny fuel containers, allowing for cost-effective manufacturing and efficient supply chains. With significant funding, Pacific Fusion's goal is to meet the increasing global energy demand and help combat climate change by providing a clean, limitless power source.
