Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science/Software Engineering, or similar
  • 5-7+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience
  • Strong professional experience in at least one of the following programming languages (or a comparable language): Python, Java, C#, Ruby, Kotlin
  • Strong SQL experience
  • Cloud computing experience (AWS preferably)
  • Able to work on greenfield projects as well as take ownership of existing projects
  • Deep knowledge of software development fundamentals including both object oriented design and functional programming
  • Highly self-sufficient and self-starting in solving complex problems and conducting projects end-to-end
  • A passion and excitement about healthcare’s unique challenges and opportunities
Responsibilities
  • Heavily contribute to setting the architectural direction for the Data Platform
  • Optimize existing Data Platform infrastructure, tooling, and data pipelines to support our expansion from supporting internal users only to also supporting external users
  • Work with a tech stack including but not limited to: Python, Postgres, Redshift, Prefect, Kubernetes, various AWS services, etc
  • Implement a new Data Platform API layer
  • Work with Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, Product, and other data platform users to understand and support their use cases
  • Explore new technologies and bring your expertise to AKASA
  • Mentor less senior team members
