We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join Wattpad’s accounting team. You will be a key contributor in our accounts payable and accounts receivable cycle. As a member of the accounting team, you will utilize your A+ relationship building skills to partner with our vendors and employees to ensure compliance to our policies & procedures and an overall positive & smooth interaction.

What you’ll be doing:

Detailed coding of invoices, expense reports and credit card reports in accordance with our robust corporate structure and chart of accounts
Assist creators in onboarding to global payment platform
Collaborating and communicating with departments on accounts payable to ensure payment and smooth cheque runs (assisting with updating bank info, submitting forms, credit checks, etc.)
Managing and responding to inquiries in the AP inboxes
Billing (sales orders & invoicing) administration in accordance with accurate interpretation of customer contracts and effectively communicating with our various lines of business to gather required information
AR payment application and depositing cheques to the bank
AR collections, including troubleshooting and escalation as needed
Onboard and set up new customer accounts

What we’re looking for:

Meticulous, keen attention to detail and highly organized
Impeccable customer service, relationship building and problem solving skills
Stellar communication (verbal and written) and possess professional maturity
Proven track record of successful multi-tasking and ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines
Possess a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and thrive in a collaborative team environment
Flexible and adaptable to execute ever changing job duties and take initiative on continuous improvement
Experience with bookkeeping and/or in the AR/AP cycle for a small/mid-sized company with multiple currencies and legal entities
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets experience
Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field
Working towards a CPA designation (preferred, but not required)
