Requirements
  • Ph.D. in anthropology, biology, anatomy, or another anatomically related field in hand at the time of appointment
  • At least two years of teaching experience in relevant courses
  • Undergraduate or graduate teaching experience that implements active learning strategies is required
  • Documented excellence in teaching is important
  • Demonstrated commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or a description of how to do so
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of a human gross anatomy teaching program in the Department of Anthropology’s new gross anatomy teaching lab
  • Teach a human gross anatomy dissection course for medical students, graduate students, and advanced undergraduates
  • Oversee and maintain the human gross anatomy teaching program in the department
  • Recruit and train laboratory teaching assistants to be effective members of an instructional team
  • Create/implement inquiry-based class exercises
  • Lead curriculum design and assessment
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated interest in pedagogy and the application of research-based teaching methods
  • Anatomy teaching and dissection experience preferred
