  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering and a minimum of 8 years of related work experience

  • Knowledge of the Con Edison electric distribution system and various associated designs
Responsibilities
  • Manage, direct and supervise engineering and/or contractor personnel in providing expertise and coordination among various operating departments and customers on technical matters
  • Provide and support learning and growth opportunities for your employees
  • Manage and prioritize tasks for the team to ensure high visibility items are addressed and to drive process improvements
  • Evaluate innovating solutions to address challenges for interconnecting DER projects to the distribution system
  • Ensure that contractor's and customer's installations are in compliance with company specifications and operating requirements, and that appropriate coordination of company construction activities are adequately in place to ensure timely response to customer needs
  • Periodically meet with customers and contractors to determine the level of satisfaction of service received and resolve customer or client complaints
  • Work with other departments to continually improve the work process to add value for the customer and the Company
  • Serve on in-house and industry technical committees and task forces
  • Provide employees a safe, diverse, and inclusive work environment
  • Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required
Desired Qualifications
  • Pertinent experience includes the design and operating aspects involved in system and substation design related to providing high tension and distributed generation interconnection to customers
  • Knowledge of primary distribution transformers, medium voltage switchgear, grounding systems, station battery systems, medium voltage revenue metering, protective relaying and voltage regulation systems with a working knowledge of distribution substation equipment and the associated design calculations, operating and protective relaying philosophies and grounding
  • Knowledge of distributed generation interconnection designs
  • Relay Protection knowledge
  • Electrical Engineering experience
  • Experience in evaluating reliability benefits of alternative solutions, provide technical expertise and guidance and coordinate company resources to provide support to developers of new generation and distribution resources

(Con Edison) (NYSE: ED) today reported 2024 net income for common stock of $1,820 million or $5.26 a share compared with $2,519 million or $7.25 a share in 2023. Adjusted earnings (non-GAAP) were $1,868 million or $5.40 a share in 2024 compared with $1,762 million or $5.07 a share in 2023.
