Ames Construction is hiring qualified Field Heavy Duty Repair person/mechanic based out of our Reno, NV location. This position is responsible for the troubleshooting and repairs on all models of Caterpillar and construction related heavy equipment. This will include disassembly and assembly, diagnosis, testing, failure analysis, inspection and in-field general repair.
Must have at least 10-15 years of experience in: Caterpillar Equipment, welding/fabrication, CAT ET and SIS web experience, Cummins engine repair
Must have competency on John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, Gehl, and other construction equipment
Must have competency in operation, maintenance, diagnostic and repair of light plants, generators, compressors, pumps and small compaction equipment
Must have leadership capabilities to oversee a team of field service employees as a working supervisor
Must understand and adhere to the personal responsibility of safety, and work safely at all times
Ability to work as a team, communicate effectively, and take ownership of assigned tasks
Maintain Field Service truck and company provided tooling and equipment.
Must comply with all DOT regulations, including maintaining and completing daily log books, inspections, etc. and have clean driving record and Class B CDL with proper endorsements, tank and hazmat is preferred
Must be willing to have a flexible work shift, work extended hours or possible weekends and work out of town as workload requires
Demonstrate excellent work ethic with self-motivation and ability to work safe with minimal supervision on work site, while maintaining Ames Construction expectations of thoroughness
Willing to complete all job tasks as required by supervisor
Experience working on Caterpillar and construction related equipment.
Have and maintain a Class B CDL and DOT medical card
Must have excellent troubleshooting skills with confident ability to navigate through electrical and hydraulic schematics
Self-starter with lots of ambition
Willing to promote a teamwork atmosphere working closely with all departments throughout the company
Can work in a high-pressure environment and maintain a professional and positive attitude
Excellent mechanical skills with prior experience
Understand the urgency of our industry in getting Ames Construction equipment back up and running
Excellent organization and communication skills
Travel – This position is based out of the Ames Construction project office in Reno, NV.
Construction Site Environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Lifting and carrying material and objects. Exposed to high noise levels.
Schedule: 10hour shifts, swing shifts (day or night).
