Requirements
  • Some experience is preferred, but candidates eager and willing to learn will be considered.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
Responsibilities
  • Support supply distribution and facility operations.
  • Order and maintain adequate levels of supplies, equipment, and linen.
  • Collaborate with administrative and clinical leadership and assist with selecting equipment and supplies needed for optimum patient care and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate with vendors and ancillary services, including Plant Operations, Facilities Management, Safety, and Environmental Services, to maintain assigned facility areas in a safe, attractive, and appropriate condition.
  • Take inventory and order supplies to maintain established inventory levels in assigned supply areas according to schedule.
  • Count supplies item by item and record quantities needed to reach established inventory levels; order items through the inventory management system, such as Helios.
  • Order additional supplies, including items above par levels, non-routine supplies, and patient charge items, when requested by leadership or clinical staff.
  • Anticipate and avoid supply shortages by ordering out-of-stock and depleted items promptly, offering alternatives when appropriate, and checking other areas for available stock.
  • Identify overstocked items, return them to the appropriate party for credit, and notify the manager daily.
  • Check items on order using the backorder report and notify the manager of critical items needed for timely delivery and stocking.
  • Identify fast-moving items and monitor them closely.
  • Suggest changes to par levels and participate in reviewing par levels with administrative and clinical leadership.
  • Use paper or computer-based forms to request and credit items and process Return Authorization online forms as appropriate.
  • Select the correct quantity, account number or expense code, cost center, date, and location on all orders.
  • Identify cost-containment opportunities and recommend changes to managers.
  • Deliver and store supplies in appropriate locations and quantities within established time frames.
  • Distribute and store items according to item type and established delivery priorities, rotating items before storage.
  • Distribute items and patient charge items daily.
  • Deliver and stock medications.
  • Securely store distributed Food and Drug Administration-approved products according to guidelines.
  • Stock supplies daily in nurse servers, medication rooms, supply closets, examination rooms, patient rooms, treatment areas, laboratories, waiting rooms, conference rooms, and consultation rooms.
Desired Qualifications
