Platform Science first to achieve Canadian ELD certification on Daimler Truck's factory-installed CTP2 platform

Platform Science has become the first company to achieve Canadian electronic logging device certification on Daimler Truck North America's factory-installed Common Telematics Platform 2. The certification enables fleets operating Freightliner and Western Star vehicles equipped with CTP2 to run integrated compliance solutions across the US and Canada without aftermarket hardware. CTP2 is DTNA's factory-installed telematics platform available in Fourth Generation Freightliner Cascadia, Freightliner Plus series and Western Star X-Series vehicles. The certification allows fleets to use Platform Science's ELD natively, simplifying compliance for Canadian and cross-border operations. Built on Platform Science's Virtual Vehicle platform, the solution provides a unified system for compliance, telematics and driver applications. Canadian ELDs must be independently certified by third-party bodies accredited by the Minister of Transport and undergo annual retesting.

Aeva delivers Atlas LiDAR C-samples to Daimler Truck for autonomous Class 8 production

Aeva has delivered initial C-sample units of its Atlas 4D LiDAR sensors to Daimler Truck North America and Torc Robotics, marking a significant milestone towards series production of SAE Level 4 autonomous Class 8 semi-trucks. Aeva is the exclusive long-range LiDAR supplier for autonomous Freightliner Cascadia trucks in North America. The Atlas sensor uses Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave technology to simultaneously measure range and velocity for every detected point, enabling long-range detection up to 500 metres. This allows autonomous trucks to perceive hazards at highway speeds and distinguish moving objects from static elements. The C-sample delivery represents a critical step as Aeva and Daimler Truck continue integration, validation and system optimisation ahead of series production deployment.
