Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hotel sales experience in the United Arab Emirates hospitality market.
  • Proven experience handling GCC, Government, or Sports segments.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems, including Opera Cloud, Cent, or similar platforms.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans for GCC, Government, and Sports segments to achieve budgeted revenue targets.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities from UAE government entities, semi-government organizations, embassies, ministries, and public sector companies.
  • Drive room nights, extended stays, group bookings, and meeting and event revenues from GCC markets.
  • Target sports teams, academies, federations, associations, tournament organizers, and sporting event organizers for accommodation and event business.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, corporate rates, event contracts, corporate contracts, and group business in line with hotel revenue strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with existing government, GCC, and sports accounts to maximize repeat business.
  • Conduct client visits, presentations, sales calls, networking activities, site inspections, familiarization trips, and client entertainment activities.
  • Develop account plans for key customers and monitor account performance, account revenue, and business production.
  • Represent the hotel at trade exhibitions, government networking events, sports conferences, roadshows, trade shows, travel fairs, sports events, and industry events.
  • Conduct sales trips and sales missions within the UAE, GCC countries, and key source markets.
  • Monitor competitor activities, market trends, emerging opportunities, and changing marketing conditions within assigned segments.
  • Analyze production reports and recommend strategies to grow market share.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue targets.
  • Maximize room, meeting, conference, banquet, and catering revenues from assigned market segments.
  • Work with Revenue Management to optimize pricing strategies and business mix.
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across hotel services and facilities.
  • Collaborate with Reservations, Revenue, Events, Front Office, and Food and Beverage teams to ensure seamless execution of client requirements.
  • Maintain accurate account and contact information in the customer relationship management system and property management system.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports, forecasts, market intelligence updates, and sales activity reports.
  • Monitor segment performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain a sales call pattern averaging 25 calls per week and entertain a minimum of two accounts per week.
  • Attend departmental sales briefings, debriefings, weekly reviews, departmental meetings, communication meetings, major hotel and city events, and functions related to handled accounts.
  • Develop prospect accounts and implement a sales action plan for each account.
  • Respond to business requests within 24 hours.
  • Assist with sales blitzes coordinated by the Assistant Director of Sales.
  • Produce sales leads for Mövenpick hotels outside the assigned coverage area.
  • Solicit and service transient, corporate, group, and meeting business.
  • Formulate corporate offer letters, yearly contracts, and other required business correspondence.
  • Handle incoming calls, ensure messages are taken, and forward details to the appropriate person.
  • Coordinate with the international sales office regarding request-for-proposal accounts and markets serviced by outbound sales.
  • Coordinate with the Events Management Team during account negotiations and follow up with conference coordinators after invoices are posted.
  • Maintain files of major accounts and assist the Assistant Director of Sales with the account management system.
  • Disseminate sales-related information to other departments as appropriate.
  • Ensure adherence to selling strategies, hotel policies, sales and marketing policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure comprehensive and current knowledge of the property's selling points, features, amenities, services, and policies.
  • Follow hotel safety, hygiene, health, environmental, emergency, confidentiality, and information-security procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • An existing network of contacts within UAE government entities, GCC travel partners, sports organizations, or event planners.
  • Experience with international hotel brands.
  • Arabic language skills.
  • A valid UAE driving license.
