The Director of Market Development is part of the HeartFlow commercial organization and will report directly to the Marketing department. The job will focus on planning, developing, and executing market development plans for driving FFRct adoption in patients undergoing Structural Heart interventional therapies. This position will be based in Mountain View, CA but qualified candidates who are working remotely will also be considered. It will require approximately 50% travel in the US.
Job Responsibilities:
The job scope of the Director of Market Development encompasses all market development activities related to driving FFRct adoption in patients undergoing Structural Heart interventional therapies (with a focus in TAVR) in order to achieve the following:
- Build a market development plan for FFRct adoption in TAVR to create a new market segment within the coronary artery disease space, and drive FFRct to become the standard-of-care for assessment of coronary artery disease as part of the TAVR case planning
- Understand barriers-to-adoption, and ability to impact and breakdown the barriers to maximize success at the account level
- Own FFRct value propositions and messaging within the application in TAVR
- Work with the US Commercial team to identify opportunity accounts, and work with these target accounts to implement FFRct into the customer’s TAVR case planning workflow and process
- Create marketing and education contents and materials to support the implementation of FFRct as part of the TAVR case planning
- Build revenue forecast for HeartFlow revenues related to Structural Heart in collaboration with the US sales team
- Coordinate with Medical Affairs to identify and influence podium presentations at key conferences
- Work with Product Development team by sharing customer feedback and providing inputs into product development process
- Collaborate with Sales Training to build content for continued education of the salesforce.
- Support international geographies on Structural Heart market development initiatives
- Closely manage timelines across all activities to drive execution.
- Set metrics to measure the effectiveness of market development effort
Ideal Background Will Include:
- Experience in driving customer adoption of new technologies
- Experience in working with customers to implement new technologies to become part of their standard-of-care workflow
- Experience translating complex clinical evidence and health economics data to support value proposition, build commercial messaging, and build customer-facing materials
- Experience and track record in developing and launching market development initiatives in the healthcare space to drive business results
- Experience in close collaboration with cross-functional team and sales organization to drive execution
Skillset Requirements:
- Proven ability to establish/set market development strategy and drive execution
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to sell and convince customers to adopt new technologies into their workflow
- Critical and analytical thinking to solve business challenges
- Expertise in best-in-class market development tools, programs, and initiatives
- Outstanding project management, organization, and leadership skills
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, able to contribute both individually and as a leader
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
Educational Requirements and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, preferably business, engineering, or science. MBA strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in field marketing or market development (B2B healthcare experience preferred)
- Previous medical device, life science, or healthcare product marketing, market development or field marketing experience (preferably in the Structural Heart space), including developing and launching marketing campaigns and market development initiatives to drive adoption of new technologies
The pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience and training; skill sets; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the yearly base compensation range is $180,000 to $240,000.
