Ace Hardware celebrates its Walnutport grand opening. From left are Kim Heineman, Thalia O'Shura and Chase Garcia of the new Ace Hardware store in Walnutport. Heineman said, "I'm glad to work here to help shoppers pick out paints and help with ideas for their projects. To be able to be an in-person help is great. I used to work in painting and buy paint for my job. To work on the other side is great." PATRICIA INGLES/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS Published April 24. 2026 02:45PM by PATRICIA INGLES [email protected] The newest location of Ace Hardware is 200 Best Ave. in the Walnutport Plaza. The store opened on Feb. 19. The store is hosting its grand opening through Sunday. All shoppers are given a reusable shopping bag with a mini ice bucket, Ace seed card, a Frostop Root Beer, chips, and candy. The store was quite busy Thursday as it is most days. Shoppers Cindy and Sam Smith of Walnutport said, "We are so happy that a real hardware store has opened in our town. The selection is great. The store feels good. This store really has a great inventory." Tom Shear said, "I'm so glad I don't have to go to the Ace in Schnecksville. They had just what I needed without having to drive far. I bought painting supplies and 10 bags of topsoil. I'm able to get back to what I was doing at home faster." Alaina Lambert came into the store to ask, "I have a salt stone massage unit that does not heat up. I was wondering if you fix devices?" She was told they do not, but they have a handyman list that might work for her. Shopper Patty Reed said, "This is such a big relief and time saver for me." Tim Bracey, owner, explained that he chose to open his second Ace Hardware because of its location. "There is a real need for this store due to the demographics. We have a grocery store, liquor store, fast food, restaurants, auto part stores and dollar stores. Everything you could want in one area. It keeps people in the area." Discussing the Walnutport Plaza location, Bracey said. "We have good neighbors centered around us. We will keep an eye on stock that really sells and those that don't. We have a full selection of paint, anything and everything for yards, online ordering, delivery, we fix screens, sharpen mower blades and we are a true hardware store to maintain your home." This is the second Ace Hardware for Tim Bracey. His first one is in Brodheadsville. He resides with his wife and three sons in Lackawanna County.
Ace Hardware to open in Tullahoma. * DUANE SHERRILL Contributor * Apr 8, 2026 Ace Hardware gave a sneak peek of what is to come when the store opens its doors in Tullahoma in the near future - with the store to include a Benjamin Moore paint store, a pet supply store, a garden center and a gift shop along with its hardware portion. Store owners Greg and Christa Yandell of Hendersonville invited civic leaders for lunch and a tour of the building which is still being converted from the former Office Max that was originally in the building located off Jackson next to Buffalo Wild Wings. Mr. Yandell pointed out that they had been building businesses for the past 20 years and they got into Ace Hardware about six years ago. Regional area events.
Ace Hardware joins Uber Eats to expand on-demand delivery nationwide. From spring gardening supplies to last-minute home repairs, customers can now shop from 3,700+ Ace Hardware stores for on-demand delivery through Uber Eats. April 7, 2026. 4:13 PM SAN FRANCISCO - Uber Technologies, Inc. and Ace Hardware have launched a new partnership that brings more than 3,700 Ace stores across all 50 states onto the Uber Eats platform, significantly expanding access to on-demand home improvement products. Now live, the integration allows customers to shop their local Ace Hardware store directly through the Uber Eats app, with options for both immediate and scheduled delivery. The move pairs Ace's extensive network of locally owned stores with Uber's logistics and delivery infrastructure, aiming to meet rising demand for convenience across everyday retail categories. "Ace is built on a network of locally-owned stores that are deeply rooted in the communities they serve, and partnering with Uber allows us to meet our customers wherever they are," said Bill Kiss, head of digital at Ace Hardware. "Whether they're tackling a last-minute project or planning ahead, our customers now have greater access to fast, flexible solutions for getting the products they need delivered right to their doorstep." The partnership underscores Uber Eats' broader push beyond restaurant delivery into categories such as home improvement, beauty and electronics. In 2025, the platform added more than 50,000 retail locations in the U.S. alone, reflecting growing consumer reliance on delivery for non-food essentials. "Consumers are increasingly turning to Uber Eats for more than just meals," said Hashim Amin, head of grocery and retail for Uber in North America. "We're proud to welcome Ace Hardware's extensive network and loyal customers to our platform as we continue to expand the selection available to shoppers." Through the app, users can browse a range of items including paint, tools and gardening supplies, select a nearby Ace location and track deliveries in real time from store to doorstep. The rollout positions both companies to capture incremental demand tied to urgent, project-based shopping occasions, particularly in categories where immediacy and local inventory are critical. Uber Eats has been rapidly repositioning itself from a restaurant delivery app into a broader last-mile retail marketplace, with a steady cadence of partnerships across grocery, general merchandise and specialty retail. Over the past year, the platform has added thousands of new merchants globally, including major national chains and regional players, while deepening ties with grocers such as The Kroger Co., whose full-store assortments are now being integrated across more than 2,600 locations for scheduled and on-demand delivery. At the same time, Uber Eats has leaned heavily into local and regional grocery partnerships, bringing banners like Big Y, King Kullen and others onto the platform to strengthen its relevance in everyday shopping missions. The company has expanded into retail sectors like beauty, apparel, electronics, and home goods, creating a multi-category marketplace. Clients include ALDI, Sephora, Camping World, and Lush, emphasizing convenience with a single app for diverse products. Growth is driven by tech investments, including AI shopping tools and voice platform integrations like Amazon's Alexa, aiming to deepen Uber Eats' role in daily commerce.

This will be followed by a three-day grand opening with "swag, gift bags, giveaways, and plenty of surprises" from May 29-31. "Customers can expect a thoughtfully curated selection of household essentials, giftable items, plants, paint, grills, and more - all supported by the kind of personalized service that Jeff's Ace Hardware team is known for," Smith said. We've worked hard to build a neighborhood destination where people can find everything from tools and paint to unique gifts, party supplies, plants and more."
