Requirements
  • Currently licensed and certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant in the state of Texas and be in good standing
  • Graduate of licensed and accredited nursing or physician assistant school
  • Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities
  • Provide outpatient and occasional inpatient care to patients seeking diagnosis and treatment for musculoskeletal conditions, working alongside licensed surgical and non-surgical physicians
  • Provide quality care, conduct diagnostic testing, and administer appropriate treatments by following evidence-based care pathways
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team to develop and coordinate comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans for patients
  • Counsel patients on clinical issues and treatment plans including non-operative and operative interventions
  • Develop strong working relationships with referring providers and keep them informed about patient treatment plans and progress, as appropriate
  • Participate in ongoing quality assurance audits and provide real-time feedback to improve patient care
  • Develop and deliver patient education materials related to non-operative and operative treatment for common musculoskeletal conditions
  • Use available tools to track patient progress and coordinate care across the care continuum
  • Coordinate with social workers, case managers, care coordinators, and other staff to help address non-clinical needs of patients
  • Assist in educating other associate providers, medical students, orthopedic residents, fellows, and faculty through grand rounds presentations, multidisciplinary case presentations, and/or one-on-one clinical mentorship
  • Participate in the critical evaluation of patient care to help ensure that the program continues to improve and evolve the care pathways as appropriate
  • Participate in continuing clinical education to ensure knowledge and skills are up to date and relevant
  • Other related functions as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of experience in busy surgical, physical medicine and rehabilitation, or other related outpatient clinical practice
  • Working knowledge of and/or experience with Value-Based Healthcare Delivery models
  • Experience delivering care through a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency using Epic electronic medical records
  • Experience tracking, measuring, and using patient reported outcomes in developing treatment plans for patients
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
