Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition or related field from an accredited college
  • Master’s degree
  • Active Registered Dietitian (R.D.) with the American Dietetic Association
  • Minimum of two years of experience
  • This position requires in depth clinical nutrition knowledge and the ability to work independently and effectively within the care environment.
Responsibilities
  • Actively participates in the interdisciplinary patient care process providing recommendations and education based on nutrition expertise.
  • Researching the effects of nutrition on health and fitness
  • Remains abreast of current research in areas of expertise through networking and continuing education activities.
  • Collaborate with the Food Service Manager on nutritional management for clients.
  • Assists on menu preparation.
  • Reviews menus to assure they are in alignment with the NYC Department of Health food standards.
  • Assures nutritional guidelines are met for all clients with special food needs.

It supports tens of thousands of individuals and families in New York City and Long Island with about 1,800 staff.
