Requirements
  • Current appropriate state licensure.
  • Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
  • Must meet the practice requirements in all states employed.
  • Minimum of 9 months nursing experience plus 3 months of specialized experience providing clinical nursing care to dialysis patients in an acute or chronic setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies and skills, including continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.
  • Demonstrated management skills necessary to provide leadership in the supervision of dialysis personnel and ensure the delivery of maximum quality care to all patients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community.
  • Ability to provide direct patient care involving heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, prolonged standing, bending, and handling equipment and chemical or water solutions within the stated weight limits.
  • Successful completion of the Ishihara Color Blindness test as a condition of employment, with reasonable accommodation considered if needed.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure appropriate provision of acute dialysis services and treatments within assigned hospitals and facilities.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and direct acute patient care staff and perform acute treatments as needed or directed by the Program Manager.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and resource for staff members on the assigned inpatient center treatment floor.
  • Coordinate and schedule direct patient care staff to provide coverage of acute dialysis treatments and ensure efficient patient scheduling and staff utilization in accordance with the TAP scheduling tool.
  • Maintain and review the daily TAP tool for all hospitals and facilities under direct supervision and submit results to the Program Manager for review.
  • Ensure acute treatments are performed according to established policies and procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accurate patient-treatment documentation is entered into ACES during treatment and monitor daily ACES compliance.
  • Perform Quality Assessment and Improvement Program audits as directed and participate in QAI meetings as requested.
  • Assess daily patient care needs, communicate concerns to the attending physician, and implement treatment changes as directed in collaboration with prescribing physicians.
  • Perform acute treatments according to current Charge Nurse Guidance recommendations and oversee dialysis-related medical and emergency functions.
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to interpret, adjust, triage, and complete patient care plans.
  • Coordinate preventative machine maintenance, timely repair of disabled machines, infection-control measures, water culturing and testing, results logging, equipment and supply transportation, and communication of technical information to staff.
  • Serve as liaison between hospital or facility administrative staff and the Program Manager.
  • Apply cost-containment strategies to medical supply inventory and personnel.
  • Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct, company policies and procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assist with projects assigned by the Program Manager and perform other assigned duties.
  • Provide direct patient care in a healthcare-facility environment.
