Requirements
  • Graduate of trade school is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of relevant education or experience is acceptable.
  • Ability to safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials and follow Standard Precautions using required personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Apply protective and decorative coats, including paint, varnish, and lacquer, to interior and exterior surfaces and property.
  • Prepare surfaces by washing, scraping, and sanding, and maintain existing paint through matching and tinting.
  • Install, repair, and maintain drywall, wall texturing, vinyl wall coverings, and ceiling acoustic texturing.
  • Operate and maintain painting and power equipment, including compressors, spray equipment, sandblasters, and heavy lift equipment such as scissor and boom stages up to 80 feet.
  • Erect scaffolding and staging as necessary to reach work surfaces.
  • Create and apply graphics and signage layouts that comply with Department of Transportation, safety, and Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.
  • Communicate with personnel about work-order status and procedures for decision-making and compliance.
  • Support special projects and participate in assigned meetings, workshops, and training.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
